Tim Jones

Tim grew up in a Christian home in Columbus, GA, and has been involved in the church his entire life. When he was 17, the summer before his senior year in high school, Tim was saved on an outing with his church’s youth group. Although Tim was an Art Major at Columbus College (1988, B.A.), he knew that God had called him to preach. 
Therefore, he began preparation for the ministry at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, TN (1992, M.Div.).  While serving as Jr. High Youth Minister, Tim was ordained to the Gospel Ministry in 1991. Upon graduation in 1992, he became Pastor of Highland Baptist Church in Griffin, GA. In June, 2000, Tim returned to Columbus as Pastor of Britt David.

While in Griffin, Tim met Deena Deason on a blind date. They were married on April 16, 1994, and now have two wonderful children: Alex (born September 1, 1996) and Julianna (born February 18, 2002). Tim’s favorite thing to do is “hanging out and doing stuff” with his family.

Tim is a Cincinnati Reds fan and a Georgia Bulldog fan. He likes playing tennis and golf.  And his favorite verse among many is Romans 5:8 – “But God demonstrates His own love toward us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
