Pastor's Perspective:  Our staff have many thoughts to share with you this week, so please take time to read their articles.

One quick thought:  Each week is filled with important things to do for the Lord.  Many are critically important.  Let’s do them with the excellence He deserves.  At the same time, don’t let the doing replace the being.  Check out Mark 6:30-31.  Let’s do and be to the praise of His glory.  I look forward greatly to seeing you Sunday.

Let's Eat!

Do we have the willingness to serve? Can God count on us to do his work?
When Adam and Eve sinned, God promised a sacrifice that would pay for that sin and our sin. In preparing for this God recruited two humans to help out, Joseph and Mary. When God called on Joseph there were several things he knew about Joseph…

#1. God knew what was in Joseph’s heart.
#2. Joseph would respond in obedience.
#3. Joseph would take the responsibility very seriously.
#4. God did not have to catch Joseph in a good mood or have to make sure he was spiritually ready. God knew he was ready.
#5. Joseph did not have to ask his friends or come up with excuses. He listened to God. He got up, and went.

If the Lord chooses us to serve, how many of the traits above describe us? Will we be obedient and carry out God’s plan? God is calling each of us to service. No one is left out. God calls everyone. Can you be counted on like Joseph?
